This dataset contains several datasets of compressed "bricks" of floats. Each file represents a single atmospheric variable for one timestep. The file naming convention is VARfNN.bin.gz, where VAR is the variable name (CLOUD, PRECIP, etc.), and NN is the timestep (1 per hour).
There is also and single 2D file (HGTdata.bin.gz) containing the height field of the surface topography.
The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model is developed by NCAR and its partners (http://wrf-model.org), and the simulation of Hurricane Isabel and data processing are performed by Wei Wang, Cindy Bruyere, and Bill Kuo of Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Division, NCAR, and the SCD visualization group.
